What are Groove Shadows?
Groove Shadows are sound design elements made musical. They are created from many kinds of FX oriented sounds and blended together to serve various production needs.
The first commercial product created for the Groove Shadow concept was released by Ueberschall in 2001 for the utilization of music makers in production.
Groove Shadow Elastik
A second product with a new approach and more robust capabilities was released in 2006. It received 5 stars from SoundOnSound and generally good review ratings. This new instrument, based around the GS concept, now included the Elastik player plugin for immediate utilization of all GS patterns.
What Happened to Groove Shadows?
The concept continues to this day. DJs and producers make use of them and the sample CDs in their productions. They have been used as a secret method of production many years prior to the official designation of "Groove Shadow". Most recently an Audio CD was released with only "Groove Shadows" as the musical content.
